Have you found yourself once in a situation whereby you had to stay home by force? Have you found yourself in a situation whereby you could not go to church anymore? Have you found yourself in a situation where you had to pray and have your church service at home?
This has been my case for about one full week. My country was going under some political tensions and because of that no one dared go out. In fact, the ones who attempted to do that were killed and hurt, so it was wise for the population to stay home. It was a scary moment but in this period, God tested my relationship with Him.
I can describe myself as a regular church member. I am always at church services, during conferences and so on. I can never missed out a service. If I am not around, it means something happened and I could not come.
I recalled of a leader who said during a service' there will be a time where we would not be able to come to church so we have to mature as Christian and learn to pray on our own'.
Do not misunderstand me please, I do pray on my own.I do fast on my own but this was out of the church services hours.
Here I was now, on Tuesdays and Fridays as the time approaches asking myself what would I do? And the Holy Spirit to reply ' We will bring the service in your room!'
I thank God for technology. I was able to listen to a sermon and to pray about the different points elaborated by the preacher. I led myself into praise and worship. I did all the differents steps that a service would have. Prayer, Worship, the Word except the offerings.
As the days were by, I realized how much my relationship with God was tested. It was not easy I wont lie. I would wished to have my brothers and sisters by me but I had to do it alone all by myself with the Holy Spirit.
I thank God for I grew through this time. I realized that my attendance in church can not help my maturity at home. It is not because you are a leader that you are necessarily mature. Not at all!
Yes, all things work together for those who loves God. I thank God for His Grace. I thank God for the trial.I thank God for the test. We come out this only stronger and matured.
I want to encourage someone to develop the ability of spending time with God alone. Aim to spend more than a hour with God.
As I went through this test, God opened my eyes on many things. I will share some of them with you, I believe it will bless a leader, a Christian and woman of faith.
You are always blessed,
Joy.
