Morning Ladies Wonderfully Made, I hope that you are all doing well by His Grace, today I will be sharing from the book of 1 Kings. As Christians we should be praying, through prayers we talk to God but as I was doing my quiet time I was shocked to realize that not all prayers are pleased by God.
As I was reading the book of 1 Kings 3:6-9 and I was amazed at the amount of revelations God gave to me. His Word is really LIFE to our spirits. In those verses, we see the prayer that Solomon made to God as the new king of Israel. Solomon could feel the burden upon his shoulders. Solomon started his prayers by remembering how his father had walked during his reign and with God. He says his father walked in faithfulness, righteousness and uprightness of heart before God. We all have spiritual fathers even earthly fathers but how do you speak of them? Do you speak of them in good or in a bad way? The way you speak about an authority figure in your life can determine your anointing. I strongly believe it. That is why I by the Grace of God, avoid talking bad of anointed men of God or even my parents. Solomon spoke good of his father. Solomon was "created" through the sin of his father as David committed adultery with the wife of Uriah but he never said that " this father of mine, what a father, he was king but he could not even be a good king in fact he killed his servant to sleep with his wife". Never Solomon spoke about his father this way. Rather, he qualified him as " faithful". One thing that can make your prayers unpleasant to God is the way you speak about your fathers. It can close doors for your ministry but also to your own blessings. Never try this. Be like Solomon!
Another thing that Solomon did is to acknowledge his shortcomings. He looked at how David his father ruled over the people of God and he saw how unqualified he was. He saw that he was not like your father, he saw that he was not wise, not even experienced for such a job. I believe that as his father was ruling the kingdom, Solomon always looked at him, he looked at how David was making decisions, how he was leading his battles, how he was behaving as a King, he also looking as the Grace , God poured upon his life. In verse 6, he said that God has shown great mercy and loving kindness to his father. David needed the mercy of God to be able to rule His people. God gave to us some talents and gifts, for some of us He gave a specifi calling and ministry. But how will you perfom your calling our ministry if you have no one you can look upon. It is true we all have Christ with us but Christ gave to us some people operating in our "future calling". We need to look at them and learn from them. As we paid attention to how they behave and are, you will notice by the Grace of God, what weaknesses are in us. We need someone we can follow by the Grace of God and learn from. The last thing that Solomon said in his prayer is to ask for wisdom so he could be able to fulfill his calling. He asked based on the purpose of his life in Christ Jesus. What are the things you are asking to God? Are you asking them just because you want to satisfy your flesh, earthly desires, or you ask so you can fulfill God's calling into your life!? One of my spiritual father by the Grace of God, Reverend Napoleon Essien, said something very interesting yesterday as he was preaching us about the cross. He said" God will judge us according to the purpose not what we are doing". God gave you a purpose, you are not just living like that, no! God created you for a purpose , a divine reason, and He gave you His spiritual gifts and talents so you could fulfill it, but the question is are you , are we fulfilling this purpose? The Bible shows us that after Solomon finished his prayer, GOD WAS PLEASED! Verse10. We should ask ourselves " is my prayer pleasing God". The Spirit was telling me that sometimes when we pray, God does not even hear you, He sees our prayers as noises, He just hopes that we finish it quick for He is not pleased with it. The Bible speaks in Ecclesiastes 7 of offerings, and it says that some makes sacrificing of fools, in the same manner sometimes our prayers are foolish prayers. We pray yes, but it is a foolish prayer you pray. What a shock! The question is " what kind of prayer makes God please?" And the answer is " the prayer that acknowledge the sake of Christ". Solomon prayed, He asked for things, but what He asked for was in order to build the Kingdom of God. When we pray in order to build the Kingdom of God, we ask things because we think genuinely in our hearts that" God I need this because I believe it will help me to do well in the ministry", God is pleased with us and give us more than we asked because He looked at our hearts and said" wow, so this one she/he asking me for things not even for himself but for My Sake wow. I will give him more than he asked". This is God for you." May we ask for things because we want to build God's Kingdom". You want some money, ask it to God with the mind that God I want it so I can advance your kingdom by Your Grace, you want to get married, say God bless me with a husband or a wife so we could go and serve you wherever you sent us, bear in mind as you pray the purpose of God for your life. You are always blessed!
