Have your say: Let's meet Davina Ornella Avoungou

Hello wonderful women of God, I trust the Lord that you are all doing well. Let continue with our " Have your say " theme with the thoughts of one of us in the Lord, sister Davina. She is a very kind young woman and I think one of the words that can describes her character so well is " accountability". For all those years, I have know her she is by far one of the very person who I consider as an accountable friend and sister for me. I will share with you on the theme of accountabiblity some days, this is so important as a christian in our lives.....Anyway, let us hear what this lovely sister has to say to us ...Stay Blessed!

Ladies Wonderfully Made: Hello Davina, thanks for availing yourselves. Please introduce yourself ...

Avoungou Davina: Hello LWM. My name is Avoungou Ornella Davina, I am 24years old and I am the third born of a family of five children. I am a Graphic Designer student at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, currently doing my third year.

LWM: Each christia has his own testimony by the Grace of God, can you tell us how you got born again and what changed since in your life?

A.D: Well, I was very sick four years ago and no doctors were able to heal me. Actually doctors were saying I was well, but traditional healers, and those into witchcraft were telling me that I was going to die...Anyway, one day I met my Savior and on that day I knew that only Him could save me and give me LIFE. He did so and since I serve Him. I was once under boundage but now I am free and am alive because of Him ( we thank God for your life sisi). Since I know Christ, I am much more happier, I rejoice. I do not feel that burden of death that I have always felt. My eyes are opened to the Gospel of truth.

LWM: My Bishop Dag Heward Mills says sometimes that as a woman we experience more problems than men. What do you think are the main problems women encounter in their christian lives?

A.D: I think that as ladies our main problem are our emotions and feelings. They can lead us into dangerous path when they are not led by the the spirit of God. As for me, I can only handle them when I pray, meditate and spend more time in the presence of God. Also, when I allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in me and to be my help. The most important thing we should always do as christian ladies is to recognize that we need help from God( that is it, sisi).

LWM: How do you deal with temptations?

A.D: The Lord says in 1 Corinthians 10: 13 " No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation, He will also make a way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." I abide in the Word and in His Word of truth.

LWM: What do you think we are lacking of as christian ladies?

A.D: We are lacking of self control, wisdom, and submission to the Holy Spirit in the area of our feelings and emotions. For most of the time, we find ourselves ;ed by them instead of being led and obey the spirit of God.

LWM: If you were the founder of this blog, what will you put more as topics? What are your recommendations?

A.D: I would choose the topic of LOVE as an important commandment of God. Why LOVE? What kind of LOVE? Because as the Bible says in 1 Corinthians1" Though I speak with the tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith , so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing."

LWM: Is there anything you would add?

A.D:  I will just end by saying that we may persevere in the Lord. Allow the Holy Spirit to work in us and finish what He has started in us(Hebrews 12:1) Amen!

Appearance: I do not love myself!

Have you ever looked yourself in the mirror and appreciate the person you see? Have you ever thought you were not beautiful enough, nor pretty enough? Do you love yourself? Do you love your body? The way you move? If not, then continue to read may the Spirit open your eyes to let you see the beautiful person you are in Jesus Name! Hello precious! Today, I am going to share with you about self-love. How sad it is to see many women comparing themselves to other women! It breaks my heart every time I hear a lady saying 'I just want to be like her', or 'If only I was her'. Have you ever thought this way?  I think we all have...but the good news is you can decide to choose this way of thinking. You are unique. No one on earth can smile like you, can talk like you, can act like you, you are a very peculiar person, and God has no more stock of you in heaven, this should make you think twice.  When I was a teenager, I used to compare myself to my little sister...

Ladies, do not compromise

Hello, LWM! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I did by the Grace of God. Today, I would like to encourage us to stay firm in our faith. I had a chat with a friend of mine over the weekend and we were discussing about who we must marry. It was going nowhere because the person believed that she could still date an unbeliever and still be in the Will of God. I did give her the scriptures which clearly showed that God would not allow such a relationship but it was a waste of time. I am believing God that He will convince her to accept this truth. Ladies, I would like to encourage us to stay firm and not compromise our faith in Christ. We cannot play with our life this way. Marriage is a lifetime commitment, so we better be careful when it comes to choose our partner for life. I was saying to the person that I understood her view but I did not support it. I understood the fact that she said " what if I fell in love with an unbeliever?, Am I sinning?". I have been there. I ...

The best is yet to come! Appointment at the top!

Will I survive from this? Will I recover ? Will I smile again ?             So many questions, we asks ourselves after a sad event. It may be the loss of someone, a breakup, a disease, unemployment, well after a bad case we often tend to reconsider everything in our lives. If you are at this stage, know you are not alone. Many people like you have gone through this or actually are going through this.             I love the Word of God because it talks about many situations we can relate to. As it says, nothing new is before the sun, everything that is have already been, and what will be is already. So is this situation you are going through...Do you remember the story of Naomi in Judges?                The Word says that after loosing her husband and her sons, she became bitter....
